The Colorado Avalanche recovered from their 2-1 third-half deficit and now stands just one win away from lifting the Stanley Cup for the third time in franchise history. Markaz Nazim Qadri scored the winning goal in the 12:02 minute of extra time.
The finish was not without some controversy as the ball appeared to stumble across the top of the net after it crossed the goal line. Kadri received the ball from teammate Arturi Likonen, worked his way through the Tampa defense, and beat goalkeeper Andrei Vasilevsky aloft.
This was my fate’s first game since he was injured in Game Three of the Western Conference Final against the Edmonton Oilers. My destiny was checked by Oilers striker Evander Kane and forced to have thumb surgery.
It was also the second time the Lightning has lost at home during the 2022 postseason.
