Avalanche vs. Lightning Stanley Cup Final Game 4 The score: Cirelli scores early and gives Tampa Bay a 1-0 lead

The Stanley Cup Final turned out to be fun. After Avalanche won the first two games of the series – including a 7-0 defeat in Game 2 – the Lightning needed to win Game 3 at home. They did win. That’s what a team like Tampa – who is trying to win their third championship in a row – does: win the big games.

The Lightning is now getting a chance to hook the series in Florida on Wednesday night. Being at home is vital for Lightning, as they have won an eight-game franchise record straight at home. Overall in this playoff, Tampa is 8-1 at home.

If Avalanche wants to hand Lightning a second home loss for the season, his offense will need to find better ways to score. In Game 3, which was Avs’ first post-season loss, Colorado couldn’t beat Tampa goalkeeper Andre Vasilevsky despite outplaying Lightning, 39-34.
