Cara Delevingne appears VERY worse for wear while leaving raucous Met Gala afterparty

Cara Delevingne appeared to be very worse for wear on Monday night as pictures show the model being held up by Vanessa Hudgens and Megan Thee Stallion while leaving the raucous Met Gala afterparty in New York.

The 29-year-old, who went topless earlier in the evening at the iconic event, had been one of the revellers at the Casa Cipriani bash, with the celebrations seeming to have taken their toll on the bleary-eyed star.

On her very animated departure, she was supported by actress Vanessa, 33, and rapper Megan, 27, who appeared to be calming her down.

One image showed an uptight Cara clinging onto Megan’s hand as she called it a night on the fun, with the Diamonds singer keeping a close eye on her as they navigated their way out of the venue.

A concerned Vanessa was also pictured placing an arm across Cara, in what appeared to be a bid to help her pal avoid any drama.

Megan and Vanessa remained firmly by a distressed Cara’s side as the raucousness made its way outside.

After daring to bare at the annual Met Gala it was a surprisingly subdued Cara who attended its subsequent after-party on Monday evening.

The British model and actress had stormed the red carpet at the star-studded event, where she stripped off her Christian Dior jacket to unveil her gold painted body while posing outside of the The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

But Cara appeared to be feeling the chill as she made her way into the late night after-party at New York City nightspot Zero Gravity wearing a mid-length winter coat.

With the striking gold façade scrubbed clean, Cara opted for a sequined silver minidress in place of the androgynous red trouser-suit she wore earlier that evening.

She added to the look with a pair of scuffed black boots, while bold make-up – the only lasting remnant of her red carpet look – drew further attention to her already recognisable features.

Despite the shocking nature of her earlier look, Cara oozed confidence and even stuck her tongue out at photographers after going topless on the red carpet.

She protected her modesty with a pair of pasties and accessorized with a dainty gold body chain for some added dimension.

Countless gold chain choker necklaces were also secured to the catwalk queen’s neck and she rocked a statement ring on one finger.

Her bright blonde hair was parted to one side and styled in glamorous, loose waves that flowed down her back and chest. Some of it was tucked behind her ear to show off her interesting earrings.

She stomped around the spacious venue in a pair of gorgeous red platform heels.

As for makeup, Cara had hoards of rhinestones glued to her eyes in a cateye shape with shimmery shadow swiped across her brown bone.

Her lips were doused in milky pink lip gloss and her pale complexion was given a youthful flush with pink blusher.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit, also known as the Met Gala, is considered by many as the ‘Super Bowl of celebrity red carpets.’

Fashion’s biggest night is traditionally held the first Monday in May to raise money for the Costume Institute in New York City, with last year’s event moved to September due to the pandemic.

This year’s dress code was ‘gilded glamour’ to match the theme of ‘In America: An Anthology of Fashion,’ a continuation of last year’s ‘In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.’

Tickets for the glitzy event can reportedly cost up to $35,000 apiece, while prices for a table range from $200,000 to $300,000, with last year’s bash raking in a whopping $16.4 million for the Met’s Costume Institute.

Regina King, power couple Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, and Lin-Manuel Miranda hosted the occasion, taking over from Timothée Chalamet, Billie Eilish, Amanda Gorman and Naomi Osaka.

It was Miranda’s first time as a Met Gala co-chair, but he was originally intended to co-host the 2020 edition before the pandemic forced its cancellation.

Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour was once again supervising the benefit as chairwoman, a position she’s held since 1995. Her fellow honorary co-chairs were designer Tom Ford and Instagram head Adam Mosseri.

As usual, the sartorial theme came from the exhibit the gala launches: ‘In America: An Anthology of Fashion,’ which is the second of star curator Andrew Bolton’s two-part show exploring the roots of American style.
