Dave Chappelle said he “felt good” that his friends beat a disfigured fan with a replica rifle knife he allegedly handled during his Hollywood Bowl performance, according to leaked audio from the after-party.
“I felt so good about my friends breaking his arm. I felt so good. How bad – it must be that Jon Stewart is going to hit him!” Chappelle, 48, said Tuesday evening in the audio recording. Got it TMZ From the event held at the Pendry Hotel in West Hollywood.
During the frightening incident a few hours ago, the “The Closer” star yelled, “I’m going to kill that mom—!” But he later told people at the hotel that “to kill this – it would have been stupid,” according to the clip aired by TMZ.
Chappelle, who was unharmed in the accident, thanked his friends for leaving the alleged attacker, Isaiah Lee, 23, badly disfigured.
“These are very strong friends and I share them [this night] With the ones I love the most.
Stewart, 59, attended Chappelle’s show at the “Netflix Is a Joke” comedy festival, but the former “The Daily Show” host was not involved in the brawls. The Los Angeles Times reported.
The suspect was allegedly filmed knocking the famous comedian to the ground before security could pounce on him.
Lee was briefly hospitalized for injuries sustained during the accident and was later held in prison on a $30,000 bond.
Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon’s decision not to file a criminal case against Lee has already drawn some criticism, including from within his office who support the motion to withdraw the lawsuit against the attorney general.
