An orange heavy snow warning was issued for Canterbury Excessive Nation on Sunday, with “decrease quantities” anticipated to drop to decrease ranges.

MetService issued the orange warning, which is given when the climate is predicted to be a possible hazard to individuals, animals and property, on Saturday.

The warning for Canterbury Plains and Excessive Nation is in impact from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, and the company says heavy snow may disrupt journey in affected areas and will harm timber and energy strains.

“Chilly circumstances could put stress on livestock,” she says.

“Anticipate 10 to twenty cm of snow above 400 metres, in smaller quantities to decrease ranges.”
