The The Judicial Committee of the House of Representatives An emergency meeting is scheduled for Thursday to draw up a broad arms control package.
Democrats are currently pushing a series of eight bills aimed at Suppression of gun ownershipreferred to collectively as the “Protecting Our Children Act,” confirmed Fox News.
The bills contain proposals to raise the minimum purchase age for a semi-automatic weapon from 18 to 21, a ban on “high-capacity magazines,” a registry for burr stocks, and more.
The House will vote on some form of the package when they return to session next week.
The House package is expected to reach nowhere in the Senate and is seen as an accidental vote, as a bipartisan group of senators tries to agree on a bill that could be approved by the Senate.

The gun control package is a direct response to the massacre in Ovaldi, Texas – last week’s elementary school shooting that left 19 children and two teachers dead.
Ovaldi’s shooting came immediately on the trail of a separate massacre in Buffalo, New York.

President Biden faced a new round of backlash on Twitter over his comments on gun control legislation and 9mm ammunition on Memorial Day.
Biden spoke with reporters outside the White House, about his efforts to act Gun control legislation with the Republicans In Congress after the fatal Ovaldi school shooting. While Biden has admitted that his operational options are limited, he has noted that 9mm bullets have no “rationale” for their use in self-defense.
“The 22-caliber bullet will lodge in the lungs and we can get it out. The 9mm bullet blows the lung out of the body. The idea of a heavy-caliber weapon, simply has no rationale in terms of self-protection and hunting,” Biden said.
