NAPA, California (AP) – Paul Pelosi, 82, husband of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, was arrested this weekend on suspicion of a DUI in Northern California, police records showed Sunday.
Paul Pelosi was arrested late Saturday in Napa County, north of San Francisco, according to an online reservation for the mayor’s office. Report.
The report said he could face charges including driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.08 or higher.
Records showed that Pelosi’s bail was set at $5,000 for the two misdemeanours.
No other details were immediately available. More information will be announced later Sunday, California Highway Patrol officer Andrew Barclay said.
“The spokesperson will not comment on this private matter that occurred while she was on the East Coast,” Drew Hamill, a spokesperson for Nancy Pelosi, told The Associated Press.
She was the Speaker of the House of Representatives in Providence, Rhode Island, on Sunday, giving her graduation speech at Brown University.
Pelosi’s arrest was first reported by TMZ.
Paul and Nancy Pelosi have been married since 1963.
