Ukraine has requested Turkey to grab the Russian-flagged cargo, Zebek Zuli, over issues about unlawful exports.
Kyiv mentioned the ship was carrying a cargo of Ukrainian grain from the occupied Russian port of Berdyansk.
A Ukrainian International Ministry official advised Reuters that the ship Zhibek Zuli was carrying 4,500 tons of grain from the port belonging to Ukraine.
In a letter dated June 30 to the Turkish Ministry of Justice, Ukraine’s Prosecutor Normal’s Workplace mentioned the ship was concerned in an “unlawful export of Ukrainian grain.”
The grain was allegedly transported from Berdyansk to Karasu, Turkey, together with 7,000 tons of cargo.
The Ukrainian Prosecutor Normal’s Workplace requested Turkey to “carry out an inspection of this naval vessel, confiscate samples of grain for forensic examination, and demand info on the situation of those grains.”
